2026 Tobacco Product Waste Student Project Contest

The Center for Tobacco and the Environment at San Diego State University (SDSU) is hosting a contest for high school student groups in California to tackle tobacco product waste in their community.

Student Research Opportunities

We offer credit and non-credit bearing volunteer internships for high school, college, and university students with an interest in public health, environmental health, psychology, communication, and related fields. Volunteer interns work with an interdisciplinary group of researchers from San Diego State University who investigate the issue of tobacco and the environment. Depending on their interests and skills, volunteer interns have the opportunity to participate in various phases of the research process including data collection, analysis, and reporting of findings. Click here to explore the different types of research projects conducted by CTE investigators. To apply for a volunteer internship please submit your resume and letter of interest to tobacco.center@sdsu.edu. Click on the flyer to learn about last fall’s internship opportunities.
