The vision of First 5 Yuba County is that children are healthy and thriving in safe and nurturing environments and ready to succeed in their educational experiences. First 5 Yuba County improves health outcomes for children and their families in rural California by helping reduce second- and thirdhand smoke exposure. First 5 Yuba provides educational sessions to families and various cross-sector agencies on the negative health effects of second- and thirdhand smoke and provides linkages to cessation resources and community supports for other social determinants of health. First 5 Yuba County also works one on one with healthcare systems and family-serving agencies to implement an enhanced system of care for tobacco users or patients who are exposed to second- and thirdhand smoke, including comprehensive tobacco screening, education, and cessation protocols.
