About the Fair

Our monthly Community Health & Resource Fair is more than just a public event — it’s part of a growing movement to promote health, wellness, and equity across San Diego. For over 8 years, Dr. Suzanne Afflalo, a highly respected physician and community advocate, has led these efforts with compassion, purpose, and an unwavering commitment to underserved populations.

Held on the first Wednesday of every month at the Jackie Robinson YMCA, each fair provides an inviting and supportive space where individuals and families can access free health screenings, connect with local nonprofit and medical partners, and receive education and resources that support long-term well-being.

With services ranging from blood pressure checks and HIV screenings to mammogram sign-ups, vaccines, and even pet health resources, our fairs meet people where they are — regardless of insurance, income, or background.
